This festive season, The Westin Singapore ushers in the Year of the Monkey with a line-up of traditional classics and contemporary bites at Seasonal Tastes. Alternatively, turn your Lunar New Year celebrations into a gastronomic feast and complete the family reunion at home with exquisite festive classics that will please both the young and the old.

LUNAR NEW YEAR FEASTING

Celebrate abundance and prosperity with a scrumptious selection of oriental mainstays befitting of a Lunar New Year reunion meal with friends and loved ones. Available on Lunar New Year’s Eve and the first evening of the Lunar New Year, savour classics such as the Mini Buddha Jump Over The Wall – a double-boiled fish maw and crab meat broth with copious ingredients such as abalone, fish maw, mushroom, chicken and Chinese cabbage.

Other highlights include the ubiquitous Salmon Yu Sheng; traditional Eight Treasures Pen CaiBraised Pork Belly, Taro, Golden PumpkinBraised Mushrooms, Broccoli, Conch and Dried Oysters and ‘live’ dim sum and Cantonese-style BBQ stations, where our team of master chefs will carve and serve up Roast Pipa DuckChar Siew and Crispy Pork Belly, among other delightful roast meats. Seafood aficionados can also look forward to the freshest selection of Alaskan king crabs, Maine lobsters, prawns, scallops, freshly-shucked oysters, and a selection of sashimi. Finally, round off the feast with a comforting bowl of Cheng Teng with dried longans, barley, gingko nuts and lotus seeds, Red Dates Chocolate CakeMandarin Cheese Cake and Deep-fried Nian Gao.

LUNAR NEW YEAR CLASSICS TO ORDER

25 January – 22 February 2016

Look forward to a variety of Yu Shengs, the quintessential Lunar New Year dish which every family needs to serve at their festive fetes. The Prosperity Yu Sheng is served with fresh julienned green radish, carrots and deep-fried crispy yam and served alongside fresh Bluefin tuna, jellyfish, salmon roe, deep-fried white bait, Chef’s homemade pickles – pickled cucumber with chili, pickled papaya with soya vinegar, pickled mango with turmeric, pickled turnip with roselle flower, and tangy passionfruit sauce.

Other choices include the Fortune Yu Sheng with salmon, salmon roe and crispy fish skin; Double Happiness Yu Sheng with salmon and Hokkaido scallops; Abundance Yu Sheng with salmon, abalone and jellyfish; Bountiful Harvest Yu Sheng with fresh lobster, abalone, salmon and salmon roe; and a vegetarian Flourishing Prosperity Yu Sheng with sea coconut, dried berries and honey walnuts.
